A Note From Mary
Hooray, hooray for the month of May! Today is May Day, and the kindergarten kids from the school down the block leave fun little construction paper may baskets hanging on the doorknobs of random houses on my block. How stinkin' cute is that? :)
In addition to it being the REAL start of springtime here in Minnesota, it's also the time of year to honor our moms, grandmas--and c'mon, let's give a little extra love to all those special aunties out there while we're at it! (You know who you are!) To help you do that, I've designed some extra special page layouts for the month of May!
Our first layout for the month is "If Mom Says No, Call 1-800-GRANDMA" and everyone who sees the layout literally laughs out loud! Our custom kid is pictured with a giant chocolate chip cookie in one hand and the cordless phone in the other, presumably giving Grandma a call to come to the rescue. What a riot! (Note: If you can't use the layout for Grandma and would prefer your layout title to say GRANDPA instead, just add a note in the message box at checkout to let me know and I'll send you that instead.)
Next up we have "You Are So Special to Me!" This layout can be about anyone special, but it will hold special meaning for photos of your kids, spouse, pets, or even your own mom! This kit comes with two variations. The pretty pink version will come as shown on the website, and there's also a blue version for those of you who have real trouble putting photos of your guys on a pink page. *grin!* The cool thing about this layout is that the brown floral "wallet" on the right page opens up to reveal a pull-out section that will hold up to as many as ten more photos!
Last but certainly not least, you'll find "I Could Not Ask For More". I wanted to design a layout that would be appropriate for people who wanted to scrap photos of their moms, but then thought that some people would like the option of scrapping more photos of their kids/spouse. Then this song title popped right into my head! So this page design really came through to work for both! Upon showing it to some of my scrappin' friends, they noted that it would also serve well as a scrapbook layout for prom photos, for wedding/engagement photos, spring portraits or even graduation photos. The title speaks of gratitude without specifics which opens up a whole lot of options. I love it!
As always, you may choose how you would like to order your Original Monthly Page Kits. You may order the full Monthly Kit (one of each of the three featured layouts for a total of six designer pages) which is value priced for $23.95*, or you may order just the individual layout kits you need at the ala carte price of $9.50* each, or any combination of the two. Either way, this is a incredible value when you consider everything that goes into making my kits special and unique--and customized just for you! Please note that I must receive your order through the online shopping cart no later than Wednesday, April 30th in order to include any of the Monthly Kits with your order.
PLEASE NOTE! All orders containing any or all of the Monthly Page Kits along with other regularly stocked items will be HELD until the monthly kits are ready to ship--in this case, between June 2-6, 2008.** This helps to hold down your shipping costs by sending out fewer packages. If you need any item sooner than the posted scheduled ship date for the Monthly Page Kit, please place a separate order for those items so I know you want me to send them out ASAP. Matchbook Tag Mini Album Instructions--
The Matchbook Tag Mini Album was very well received and everyone loved it! A link to purchase Matchbook Tag Mini Albums can be found below the instructions. Here are the instructions for those who may have purchased additional kit packets.
Poke
out the precut holes in the tags and the matchbook wrap cover. Stack the tags
together aligning the holes. Insert the prongs of the brad in the kit through
all tags, then insert them through the hole on the inside of the cover as shown
in the photo at left. Split the prongs on the outside back of the matchbook
cover. Decorate the tags as desired using cropped or wallet sized photos, rub-ons,
stickers, stamps and more.
If desired, shade the edges of the tags and cover with tan chalk or chalk ink.
Using the wider ribbon piece, tie a loose square knot in the center of the piece. Thread both loose ends down through the hole in one of the diecut flowers using whichever side you prefer face up. Using glue dots or other suitable adhesive, attach the flower to the top flap of the cover, taking care not to adhere it to low where it would interfere with the slots that hold the cover flap closed.
Tie the narrower ribbon around the letter "m" diecut. Using an Around the Block Tape Writer or Dymo manual embossing labeler, spell out the rest of the word (m)emories as shown in the lower photo. Adhere the embossed strip and the letter M to the front cover of the book as shown.
